History

Hundreds of years ago the 10th mission Mission Santa Barbara was built on December 4, 1786 founded by Father Fermin Lasuen. Mission Santa Barbara was built on Santa Barbara near the Chumash tribe so they can force the Native Americans to work in the mission, learn the Christian religion, and learn the Spanish way of life. Mission Santa Barbra had to be rebuilt because of an earthquake. Now there are no more Native Americans or priest living in the missions.
